Please join Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits on Friday September 7th, from 6:30-8:30p.m for a Crush Hour featuring wines from Spain.

Known for bold reds, crisp whites, distinctive sparkling, and fortified wines, Spain has embraced international varieties and wine styles while continuing to place the primary emphasis upon its own native grapes.  This region has created a perfect blend of new and old world style, and has always been a go to region for people starting their journey into European wines.

Five cheeses from the Bern’s Cave du Fromage will be paired with the wines, along with house made breads. The price is $25.00 per person. Please click the ‘Purchase Tickets’ button to make your reservation.
NOTE: We would like to accommodate everyone, but without a reservation admission is not guaranteed.

    Featured Wines

Segura Viudas Heredad Brut Reserve -$27.95
Blended from Macabeo and Parellada, this Cava is the estate’s crown jewel. The opening aromas come from the 30+ months of aging on the lees, lightly smokey with touches of biscut or bread and followed by hints of honey, fruit, and flower petals. The palate is fruity and full of flavor with dried fruits delivering a delightful sense of abundance. (Winemaker Notes)

2015 Mas Doix Les Crestes -$24.95
Slightly herbaceous and chemical nose showing a currant, cranberry and red-cherry character. Medium body with slightly firm tannins with a fruity finish. 90 Points James Suckling

2009 Rioja Alta Vina Arana Reserve -$28.95
A classic Rioja with mostly Tempranillo and some 5% Mazuelo (Carinena), long aging in oak barrels (three year with six manual rackings), it’s a polished, soft red. Translucent and bright with some orange around the edges, it feels light and tertiary with balsamic aromas of cigar ash and incense, spicy and developed. The palate is consistent, medium-bodied, with fine tannins and fully developed. 90 Points Robert Parker

    2017 Ameztoi Txakolina -$19.95
Served by the glass at Bern’s Steak House, it’s pale white with a touch of green. Fine with a sophisticated fragrance, reminiscent of green apples and grapes with notes of mint. Initially dry on the palate combined with a big aromatic finish. (Winemaker Notes)

    2013 Bodegas Y Vinedos Pintia -$67.95
Pintia is located on the banks of the Duero River within the Toro Appellation. The 2013 is a wine of great color intensity and profound layers. It has a frank and expressive nose and intense fruity aroma mixed with subtle woodiness. Although structured, it is remarkably fresh and elegant. (Winemaker Notes)

Lustau Dry Oloroso Don Nuno -$22.95
Opens with a wonderful set of nutty, dry aromas along with put fruits like nectarine, apricot, and peach. The palate is a cacophony of toasty, peppery flavors sweetened by caramel and brown sugar. It has a fine feel and balance, and finishes with notes of browned butter and sautéed mushroom. 91 Points Wine Enthusiast

Lustau Pedro Ximenez San Emilio -$26.95
Thick and vicious, with an olive green rim, it is sumptuously mouth-filling with a licorice richness, packed full of sweet raisins, and impressively long on the palate. The ultimate dessert wine, serve with rich, even chocolate sweets, nuts, and strong cheeses. (Winemaker Notes)
