  • Product Description

Please join Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits on Friday, October 5th, from 6:30-8:30p.m. for a Crush Hour featuring the noble grapes, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the darlings of the wine world.  One is delicate and fickle, the other one the most widely planted grape in the world.  The Burgundians have been trying to tame these grapes for centuries and the rest try their best to emulate them.  Come and see how California and Oregon hold up to the old world.

Five cheeses from the Bern’s Cave du Fromage will be paired with the wines, along with house-made breads. The price is $25.00 per person. Please click the ‘Reservation’ button to make purchase your ticket.

NOTE: We would like to accommodate everyone, but without a reservation, admission is not guaranteed.

    Featured Wines

2016 Melville Estate STA Rita Hills, Chardonnay  -$34.95
Pale straw in color, with intriguing aromatics of grilled lemon, honeysuckle and pear emerging up front. On the palate, notes of fresh ginger, kumquat and dried straw mingle with weightier impressions of sourdough toast, caramel and roasted marshmallow. The mouthfeel is velvety, with a touch of oiliness on the mid-palate along with an energetic streak of acidity that anchors a voluptuous and polished finish. -Winery Notes

2016 Patty Green Freedom Hill, Willamette Valley Pinot Noir -$39.95
This wine has the deep pigmentation, floral aromatics, intense mid-palate sweetness and structured finishing tannins that provide enough fortitude to hold the wine's fruit sweetness well in check. This balances at a very high level. By any measure, this is a terrific, site-specific Pinot Noir from one of Oregon’s classic and historical vineyards. -Winery Notes

2013 Iron Horse Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir -$42.95
This is an elusive, spicy wine made in larger amounts than many of the producer's other single-site wines and it shows a deftness of balance and blending. Tangy orange and cranberry wrap around a high acidity that plays out like wet stones and black tea with plenty of herbal backbone on display. -92 points Wine Enthusiast

2015 Liquid Farm White Hill Chardonnay  -$44.95
Extremely fresh and chalky on the nose, this blend of nine vineyards is a stunner, showing aromas of Key lime and tangerine pith across a very tightly wound, tense and energetic frame. The palate rides a bright white line of limestone, fresh lime and yellow grapefruit, with a grippy structure that engages the whole mouth in the sip. It will last for years, but it's great now. -94 points Wine Enthusiast

2016 Big Basin Monterey, Pinot Noir  -$39.95
This Pinot has a vibrant, spicy red fruit, beautiful silky texture, mouthfeel and a finish that is long and sustained. The aromatics jump out of the glass and the wine that follows is equally expressive and compelling. This is every bit the equal of some of the single vineyard cuvées at an 'appellation wine' price. -Winery Notes

2015 Dumol Russian River Valley Pinot Noir  -$79.95
Beautifully fragrant, aromatic Pinot: cranberry, pomegranate, fresh raspberry and classic black cherry. Licorice, rose petal, thyme and graphite complexity, freshly-turned earth. Sweet fruit entry, broad rich and tactile but remains lively and supple. Rhubarb compote, darker cassis, baked plum — deep layered intensity. Subtle red-apple-skin tannins and lingering anise perfume. Persistent resonating finish. -Winery Notes

2016 Point North Willamette Valley Pinot Noir  -$19.95
Point North Pinot Noir is deep garnet in color with complex aromas of raspberry, blackberry and black pepper with a touch of leather. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with dark fruit flavors, raspberries and earthy spice notes. The wine has a bright mouth feel integrated with soft round tannins for a lengthy and complex finish.
