Please join Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits on Thursday October 17th from 6:00-7:30pm for a seated tasting featuring Penfolds Winery.  Zoe Warrington, Australian Brand Ambassador will be guiding us through the tasting.

Penfolds has been producing remarkable wines since 1844 and indisputably led the development of Australian fine wine in the modern era.  Dr. Christopher and Mary Penfold arrived in the new world onboard the Taglioni with a vine cutting and a bold vision. From unknown soils in a faraway land, a world class winery grew.

Five Cheeses from Élevage will be paired with the wines, along with house made breads.  The price is $45.00 per person.  Reservations are requested, please book your ticket by clicking the link.

    Featured Wines

Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Inspired by Bin 707, Bin 407 offers varietal definition and approachability, yet still with structure and depth of flavour. Textbook Cabernet Sauvignon, the varietally expressive Bin 407 highlights the rewards of Penfolds multi-region, multi-vineyard blending, with a core of ripe fruit supported by sensitive use of French and American oak. 96 points James Halliday

    Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet/Shiraz 2016

The personality of this warmer-vintage Bin 389 is big, bold and welcoming. Coal smoke and graphite intertwine with blackberry, cassis, woody and leafy notes. Some Chinese five spice, too. The palate is delivered with fine, sweeping and long, smooth tannins that carry a supple array of mainly blackberry and roasted-coffee flavors. Powerful yet silky, super long and smooth, building to an exceptionally tidy finish. -96 points James Suckling

    Penfolds St Henri Shiraz 2015

Black olive and plum notes form the base of the 2015 Shiraz St Henri, a wine that sees no new oak (it's aged entirely in old foudres). This vintage includes 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives a bit of lift and a leafy, floral note on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied, with a firm, structured feel and ample tannins to ensure 20-plus years of longevity. -93 points Robert Parker

    Penfolds RWT Shiraz 2015

Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 RWT Shiraz leaps from the glass with expressive blackberries, black raspberries and wild blueberry notes plus underlying Indian spices, Sichuan pepper, forest floor and fertile loam notes with a waft of charcuterie. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it coats the palate with vibrant black berry and spicy layers, framed by firm, rounded tannins and finishing on a lingering earthy note. -95 points Robert Parker

    Penfolds Grandfather Port

The 20 year old Penfolds Grandfather Rare Tawny is a pale tawny color with a touch of brick. On the nose it is a bit spirituous and shows notes of raisins and fruit cake, some hazelnut and crème brulée. The palate shows even more nuttiness and depth along with greater freshness and acidity, though it seems drier than the Father. It finishes very long almost like a sweet oloroso or amontillado.-92 points Robert Parker
