  • Product Description

Frédéric Mugnier usually begins his harvest with his Clos de la Maréchale but this year he picked his Chambolle vineyards first. There was no change to his vinification process for 2015 given that he employs a light hand in any vintage. Yields were lower than he expected – plenty of bunches but very small grapes – and Frédéric likes the style of the vintage. He notes that the tannins were not quite as ripe as 2005 and thus provide the fresher character evident in 2015.

92 Points View from the Cellar The 2015 Clos de la Maréchale is outstanding on both the nose and palate, with a fine synthesis of pure fruit and striking soil signature. The bouquet delivers a fine constellation of black cherries, pomegranate, gamebird, raw cocoa, lovely soil tones, a nice touch of vanillin oak and a topnote of orange peel. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very soil-driven in personality, with excellent mid-palate depth, ripe, seamless tannins and a long, tangy and well-balanced finish. 2023-2060.
