Please join Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits Thursday, November 15th  from 6:30-8:30pm for a dinner featuring wines from Chappellet Winery. Jacob Jata from Chappellet will be presenting the wines that have been expertly paired by Chefs Chad Johnson and Jon Atanacio.

The Chappellet’s romance with Pritchard Hill began when Donn Chappellet first glimpsed the mountain’s spectacular vistas in the late 1960s. Inspired by the notion that “Bacchus loves the hills” and following the advice of legendary winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff, he settled his family on the rocky eastern slopes of the Napa Valley. There, on Pritchard Hill’s serene hillsides the Chappellet family has cultivated their mountain vineyard to produce some of the Napa Valley’s most acclaimed Bordeaux varietal wines.

For more than 20 years, Sonoma-Loeb wines have been made at the Chappellet winery on Pritchard Hill by acclaimed winemaker, Phillip Corallo-Titus, who is also the longtime winemaker for Chappellet.  Two great vineyard sites, one winemaker.

$150.00 per person. Seats are limited.

    Featured Wines

2016 Chappellet Estate Chardonnay, Napa Valley
A tropical tease of guava permeates before citrusy green apple and cinnamon brioche introduce themselves on the midpalate in this well-made, memorable wine. The oak is subtle and well-integrated, allowing plenty of room for the freshness of lasting, vibrant acidity to take indelible hold. 93 points Wine Enthusiast

2015 Sonoma Loeb Pinot Noir, Dutton Ranch
A broad-shouldered youngster, ripe and loaded with zesty raspberry, blackberry, spice, floral and light oak flavors, this impresses in terms of focus, weight, persistence and size, showing room to age and gain. Ends with snappy acidity and ripe tannins. 93 Wine Spectator

    2015 Chappellet Merlot, Napa Valley
Blended with 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot, this is a thick and concentrated showing of the variety, plush and lushly spicy in clove and cinnamon. The fruit is plummy and rich in dark cherry, toasted oak and vanilla tea. 90 points Wine Enthusiast

    2016 Chappellet Mountain Cuvee
The aromas are lively and vibrant, with layers of red fruit, rum raison, cola, vanilla and cedar. On the palate, mouth coating tannins are nicely integrated into a rich, full body that offers inviting flavors of ripe berry, spiced chocolate and toasted oak. Throughout, the interplay between the five Bordeaux varieties creates a lovely underlying complexity that carries through to a lingering finish. Winemaker Notes

2016 Chappellet Signature Cabernet, Napa Valley
Hot off the presses, no available notes as of yet.
