    Winemaker
Carlo Ferrini, the man most coveted among the winemaker of the planet, the winemaker that everyone wants with its wines that occupy the first places in world ranking, arrives in Montalcino with Brunello Giodo 2009.
A career that began in the eighties - when the people who went around the vineyard there was almost no, and it was a lot of work to do - the Consortium of Chianti Classico where it operates for 10 years. But the turning point came in 1991 when, released by Consortium starts doing the consultant and, among the first companies that follows is, in Montalcino, Casanova of Blacks. Precisely due to the work and philosophy of Ferrini, who claims that the great wine is only in the vineyard, with the "Tenuta Nuova" in 2001 elected by Wine Spectator magazine considered the real "bible" of the wine world, that every year draws up its "Top 100", the world's best wine, the winery Montalcino scale the peaks of world enology.

Today, Ferrini, has its own winery in Montalcino, two and a half hectares in the Sant'Angelo area of rows that do not see nothing but the Amiata mountain and where he raises at least ten different clones selected during the long experience with this variety and where it produces 3,000 bottles of Brunello Giodo well as an IGT Toscana.
A Brunello realized that not crush his hand and with a balanced extraction. The entry is soft, the elegant tannins with a hint of wood that does not disturb and fresh acidity, firm that gives rhythm to the pleasant and lingering finish drink.

A refined product and sought that reflects the personality of Ferrini and broadcasts in clear and conspicuous manner the philosophy of this great winemaker.

    Ratings & Reviews
    96: James Suckling:
"This aromas of this Brunello are fresh and fascinating with mushroom, chili pepper, black berry and plum. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a super length. This is a great bottle for the vintage. The private wine of famous winemaker Carlo Ferrini. Drink or hold." - (February 15th, 2016)

    94: Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Carlo Ferrini's 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is a deliciously lush and soft expression of Sangiovese that offers great aromatic depth, complexity and intrigue. The wine keeps you guessing and in my case it took me a little while to wrap my head around it. Dark cherry and blackberry are harmoniously integrated with spice, leather, mocha and tobacco. It does, however, need a few moments to find balance. In the mouth, the wine is edgy and sharp with some sour cherry and cranberry. I know that winemaker Ferrini says he prefers this vintage to his 2010 Brunello. Both wines are beautiful, but I give the edge to 2010. This expression feels linear, tight and requires a few extra years of bottle aging to flesh out." - Monica Larner (Mar 2016)

    90: Antonio Galloni:
"The 2011 Giodo Brunello di Montalcino is a new wine from well-known oenologist Carlo Ferrini. Dark, powerful and sumptuous, the 2011 wraps around the palate with considerable fleshiness. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice and licorice are all pushed forward in this decidedly bold, extroverted Brunello. The Giodo Brunello is a classic Carlo Ferrini wine built on textural depth. It will be interesting to watch how future vintages unfold." - Antonio Galloni (February 2016)
