Heitz Cellar Seated Tasting August 15th
Please join Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits Wednesday August 15th from 6:00-7:30 for a seated tasting featuring the wines of Heitz Cellar.
Founded in 1961, Heitz Cellar is a true Napa Valley legend that has helped shape the history of Napa Valley winemaking. Pioneering vintner Joe Heitz ushered in Napa's modern era fifty-five years ago with his iconic, globally-celebrated wines including Napa Valley's first vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignon, the renowned Heitz Cellar Martha's Vineyard. Together we will go back in time and taste wines from 2010, to current vintage 2017.
The wines will be paired with a special selection of cheese and charcuterie from the Bern's Cave du Fromage.
** $39.95 per person, please click on the button for tickets. Seating is limited.**
2012 Heitz Cellar, Martha's Vineyard Cabernet
ntense aromas of mint, eucalyptus, dark berries, currants and redwood. Citrus peel to boot. Full-bodied, layered and very pretty with silky tannins and a juicy finish. Tight and subtle. Retro cool. From organically grown grapes. 96 points James Suckling
2010 Heitz Cellar, Trailside Vineyard Cabernet
Aromas of mint, blackberries, mushrooms and cedar follow through to a full body, round and silky tannins and a juicy finish. Subtle complexity. Delicious. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. 93 points James Suckling
2012 Heitz Cellar, Trailside Vineyard Cabernet
From a certified-organic vineyard in Rutherford, this is a 100% varietal wine that impresses from start to finish, allowing room for a slight whiff of reduction and tar on the nose. Dark notions of coffee are interwoven between bright layers of cassis and red cherry around structured acidity and oak. Enjoy 2020–2028. Cellar Selection. 94 points Wine Enthusiast
2013 Heitz Cellar, Napa Valley Cabernet
Lovely aromas of blackcurrants and dark chocolate with hints of flowers. Ever so subtle. Medium full body, firm and silky tannins and a juicy finish. Shows tension and focus. Drink or hold. 93 points James Suckling
2017 Heitz Cellar, Sauvignon Blanc
Sleek, with mouthwatering pomelo, grapefruit and tangerine flavors that are precise and juicy. Shows terrific focus on the refreshing finish, where hints of lemon verbena come in, lingering effortlessly. 90 points Wine Spectator
