Please join Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits on Wednesday July 18th from 6-7:30pm,  for a tasting featuring K Vintner’s Wine.

K Vintners starts and ends with one man, Charles Smith.  On a fated trip through Walla Walla Washington, Charles Smith befriended a Frenchman winemaker.  They both discovered their love for Syrah, and just like that K Vintners was born.  But one label was not enough. His story continues with the creation of Charles & Charles, CasaSmith ViNO, SIXTO, and Substance. We are excited to have his niece, Kelly Smith Head of Hospitality, to guide us through some of their iconic portfolio.

2013 Sixto Moxee Chardonnay Washington State $42.95
"From limestone soils and very old vines (47-year-old), the 2014 Chardonnay Moxee Vineyard is 100% Chardonnay brought up all in barrel. Its medium gold color is followed by gorgeous notes of chamomile, lemon rind and spice. Rounded, layered and textured, it's a downright classy Chardonnay."  92 Points Robert Parker

2016 Substance ‘Cs’ Cabernet Sauvignon $17.95
“Amazingly, there are 125,000 cases of the value-priced 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine offers up classic aromas of crushed cassis, loamy soil and pencil lead. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, layered and flavorful, with chewy but ripe tannins and succulent balancing acids, concluding with good length. 2015 K Vintners Milbrandt Syrah Wahluke Slope $31.95
"Rich and dramatic, the 2015 Syrah Milbrandt Vineyard bursts with lavish aromas of ripe black cherries, licorice, dark chocolate and sweet herbs. On the palate, it's full-bodied and ripe, with a broad, textural attack underpinned by fine-grained, somewhat chewy tannins that I suspect will always lend it a somewhat rustic profile this vintage. Kendall Jackson is a global brand, just a mention of this iconic name and people know exactly which Chardonnay you are talking about.  Few people  realize the depth of this brand.  Jackson Family Wines are no longer just a California Chardonnay producer, they have been slowly branching out to other great wine regions around the world.  This week we will be concentrating on their domestic wines from Oregon and California.  This ‘Family of Wines’ has become so much more then a chardonnay, come and taste it for your self.

Five cheeses from the Bern’s Cave du Fromage will be paired with the wines, along with house made breads. The price is $25.00 per person. Reservations are requested and can ONLY be made by calling Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits at (813) 250-9463

2015 Gran Moraine, Chardonnay -  $42.95
“This Chardonnay offers aromas of stone fruit, dried mango, cobbler, brioche and fennel seed. On the palate, it shows notes of flint, apricot, persimmon, lime and Thai basil. The wine is beautifully full-textured, mineral driven with a sandy-textured mid-palate and a saline finish.” Wine Maker Notes

2016 Penner Ash, Viognier  - $28.95

2014 Cambria, Clone 4 Pinot Noir - $19.95

There are notes of spice, underbrush, some sappy flowers, hints of sappy herbs and darker raspberry fruit in this medium-bodied, supple, beautifully polished, elegant and seamless beauty.
