Wine Advocate The 2005 Campos Reales is an unoaked cuvee of 100% Tempranillo from yields of 2 tons of fruit per acre, remarkably low for a wine at this humble price point. Dark ruby-colored with a fruity nose of crushed violets and blackberry, this medium-bodied wine has gobs of juicy, crunchy fruit. It is nicely balanced and has a lengthy finish. Drink this great value over the next 1-2 years. Score: 87. —Jay Miller, February 2007.
International Wine Cellar Bright purple. Youthful and grapey on the nose, with primary cherry and blackberry aromas tinged by cracked pepper. Fresh, juicy and spicy, with a suggestion of tobacco on the finish. Intense and complex for the price. Score: 87. —Stephen Tanzer, September 01, 2006.
