Shirvington Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Shirvington
This wine is dark ruby red in colour, juicy and aromatic on the nose with hints of leafy and tobacco varietal characters. The palate is instantly rich and mouth filling with ripe cherry and blackcurrant fruit. Well structured with mocha and chocolate flavours and fine emery tannins. White pepper and cloves combine to give a lengthy, spicy finish. It is drinking well now and will cellar for many years.
Wine Advocate
The deep ruby/purple-colored 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a restrained, elegant bouquet of black fruits, minerals, and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, with excellent concentration, purity, and texture, it should be consumed over the next 7-10 years. Former winemakers Sarah and Sparky Marquis have left Shirvington and the wine is now being made by Kim Johnston. Little has changed, although the 2004s appear to be more streamlined and delicate than their 2003 and 2002 counterparts.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
